Have the kiddos help make these cute turkey cookies. It's fun, and they taste great too!
12 oz. package semi-sweet chocolate chips
11 oz. package candy corn
52 fudge-striped cookies
1/4 c. butter, cubed
4 c. mini marshmallows
6 c. crispy rice cereal
52 white confetti sprinkles
Melt chocolate chips in the microwave; stir until smooth.
Tails:
Place a dollop of the melted chocolate to attach 5 candy corns to the chocolate side of half of the cookies, in a fan shape; refrigerate until set.
In a large saucepan, melt butter; add marshmallows; stir over low heat until melted. Stir in cereal. Cool for 10 minutes.
With buttered hands, form cereal mixture into 1 1/2 inch balls.
Re-melt chocolate, as necessary.
Using melted chocolate, attach the cereal balls to the chocolate side of the remaining cookies. Position tails perpendicular to the base cookies; attach with melted chocolate. Refrigerate until set.
Feet:
Cut off white tips from 52 candy corns; discard the tips, or eat them, if desired. Attach feet to base cookies with melted chocolate. Attach 1 candy corn to each cereal ball for heads.
With a toothpick dipped in melted chocolate, attach 2 confetti sprinkles to each head. Using melted chocolate, dot each sprinkle to make pupils. Let stand until set.
Store in an airtight container.
