3 T. butter
1 t. Liquid Smoke
1 lb. fresh asparagus, washed and ends trimmed
⅛ t. freshly ground black pepper
shaved Parmesan cheese, if desired
Melt butter; stir in Lquid Smoke. Place asparagus in a grill pan or skillet; baste the asparagus with the butter mixture.
Cook 11-13 minutes over medium heat or until asparagus is tender; sprinkle with pepper; serve with shaved Parmesan cheese on top, if desired.
