Take your boring brownies up a notch with these delicious ones that taste like a Mounds Bar. Your family and guests will go crazy!
1 c. butter, softened
2 c. sugar
4 eggs
1 t. vanilla extract
2 c. flour
1/2 c. baking cocoa
1/2 t. cream of tartar
1/2 c. chopped walnuts, optional
Coconut Filling:
14 oz. package flaked coconut
14 oz. can sweetened condensed milk
2 t. vanilla extract
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 13 x 9 inch baking oan.
In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla; mix well. Combine flour, cocoa, and cream of tartar; gradually add to creamed mixture. Stir in nuts.
Spread half of the batter into the prepared baking pan.
Filling:
Combine the coconut, condensed milk, and vanilla. Carefully spread this over the batter in the pan. Top with the remaining batter.
Bake 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean.
Sprinkle flaked coconut on top. Cool on a wire rack.
Serve.
