This meatloaf is very moist and tasty. It's a winning recipe that you will want to save for the future. Make meatloaf sandwiches from the leftovers, that is, if you have any!
Ingredients
- 1 lb. ground chuck
- 1 lb. ground pork
- 2 c. raw oatmeal
- 2 medium eggs, beaten
- 2 T. beef bouillon granules
- 1 t. allspice
- 1 t. freshly ground black pepper
- 1⁄4 t. thyme
- 1⁄2 c. onion, minced
- 1/4 - 1⁄2 c. minced green pepper, optional
- Sauce:
- 1 c. diced onion
- 16 oz. canned gold stewed tomatoes
- 3 T. Jack Daniels whiskey
- 1⁄4 t. nutmeg, optional
Steps
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Combine beef, pork, oats, onion and green pepper in a large bowl; mix well.
- In a separate bowl, add beef granules, pepper, allspice and thyme to beaten eggs. Beat until well mixed. Pour into meat mixture; mix until thoroughly mixed.
