Are you sad that your favorite holiday creamer is no longer available at the grocery store? Well, now you don't have to wait for the holidays to roll around again. You can make your own anytime of the year.
½ c. granulated sugar
½ c. water
1 1/2 T. unsweetened cocoa powder, regular or dark
¾ t. peppermint extract
½ t. vanilla extract
¾ c. half-and-half, milk, cream, any dairy or nut milk that you use in your coffee
In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine sugar and water; heat until sugar is just dissolved, 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat; whisk in cocoa powder, peppermint extract, and vanilla extract. Cool for a few minutes.
Add half and half to a ratio of your preference- a 1:1 ratio is good.
Store in a covered container in the refrigerator. Use within 2 weeks, shaking well before using.
