Winter is upon us and we need something to warm up from the inside out. Do that with this hot cocoa the way your grandma used to make it.
2 T. cocoa
2 T. sugar
2 pinches salt
2/3 c. water
1 1/3 c. milk, warmed
In a saucepan, add cocoa, sugar and salt. Gradually stir in 1/2 of the milk. Set over low heat at stir occasionally for 8-10 minutes. Add remaining milk; heat until scalding. Do not boil. Serve in mugs.
Sprinkle with cinnamon, nutmeg or top with whipped cream or marshmallows, if desired.
