Are they cake or are they cookies? Well, they have the goodness of both. They start with an Oreo cookie crust, then a yummy cheesecake filling and are topped with a wonderful Oreo topping.
24 Oreo cookies
1/4 c. butter, melted
8 oz. package cream cheese, softened
1/2 c. sugar
1 egg
1 t. vanilla extract
16.5 oz. package prepared chocolate chip cookie dough
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray an 11 x 7 inch baking pan with non-stick cooking spray; set aside.
Crush cookies in a large, resealable zip lock bag with a rolling pin or glass or cush them in a blender or food processor.
Combine crumbs and melted butter in a bowl, mixing until combined. Press mixture into the bottom of prepared baking pan.
In a medium sized bowl, beat together softened cream cheese, sugar, egg, and vanilla with an electric mixer until smooth. Spread over the top of the crust.
Remove cookie dough from package; flatten out small clumps to cover the cheesecake filling. Continue adding flattened pieces of cookie dough until the top is completely covered. There may be some dough left over.
Bake 30-40 minutes, until top is set and edges are golden brown.
Remove from oven; place on a wire rack to cool completely.
Refrigerate for 2-3 hours before slicing to help bars set up completely.
