Description
Meatloaf is an economical dish to serve for your family and is a family favorite for many. When it is made in the slow cooker, you put it in the crock and take the worry out of cooking. It's a tender, juicy and flavorful meal for busy families.
Ingredients
- 2 lb. lean ground beef
- 1/2 lb. Italian turkey sausage, casings removed
- 1 large onion, peeled and finely chopped or grated
- 4 large carrots, halved and divided
- 1 celery stalk, finely chopped
- 2 eggs
- 1 1/2 c. ketchup, divided
- 3/4 c. seasoned breadcrumbs
- 1/4 c. light brown sugar
- 2 T. Worcestershire sauce
- 2 t. salt
- 1 t. garlic powder, divided
- 1 t. pepper
- 1/2 t. yellow mustard
Steps
- Line the crock of a 3-5 quart slow cooker with a slow cooker liner for easy clean up.
- Wash carrots, cut off ends, slice in halves. Place 6 carrot halves in the bottom of the slow cooker. Grate the remaining carrots.
- Wash celery, chop off ends, finely chop celery.
