Description
Tailor this casserole to your taste the same way you would prepare your pizza. Use your favorite meat and pasta, and use other ingredients that you prefer. Serve with a salad and garlic bread.
Ingredients
- 1 lb. ground beef (mixture of ground beef and ground pork, Italian sausage or ground turkey)
- 8 oz. package uncooked egg noodles, ziti, penne, spaghetti or angle hair pasta
- 16 oz. jar spaghetti sauce, or more as needed (or pizza sauce)
- 2.25 oz. can sliced black olives, drained
- 2.5 oz. can sliced mushrooms, drained
- 8 oz. package sliced pepperoni, coarsely chopped
- 20 oz. shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
Steps
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Grease a 9 x 13 inch baking dish or equivalent in size.
- Cook ground beef in a skillet over medium heat until no longer pink, breaking the meat apart into crumbles while cooking, about 10 minutes. Discard grease.
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a rolling boil. Cook egg noodles in the boiling water until cooked through yet slightly firm, about 5 minutes; drain.
