Description
This yummy sauce can be served over sliced apples, ice cream, cheesecake, bread pudding or brownies!
Ingredients
- 1/2 c. butter, cut into pieces and softened
- 1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
- 1/2 c. half-and-half
- 1 t. vanilla extract
- pinch of salt
- 1-2 T. rum (optional)
Steps
- In a medium saucepan, mash together butter and brown sugar with large spoon over low heat until mixture comes together. It may look grainy. Gradually stir in half-and-half until mixture is smooth. Stir in vanilla and salt. If desired, remove from heat and stir in rum. Store in refrigerator. Makes 1 1/4 cups.
