Grilled Bacon With Steak Sauce

Description
Make this wonderful bacon and serve it alone, on hamburgers, bacon sandwiches, on steak, on baked potatoes, or anywhere you normally serve bacon.
Ingredients
4 large tomatoes
1 T. oil, plus more for brushing grill
1/4 c. minced red onion
2-3 garlic cloves, minced
1/4 c. light brown sugar, packed
1/4 c. balsamic vinegar
2 T. Worcestershire sauce
1 t. kosher salt
3/4 - 1 t. freshly ground black pepper
2 T. prepared horseradish
1 lb. 1/4-inch-thick slices slab bacon

Tomato sauce:
Place tomatoes in hot water for 5 minutes, peeled and liquefied. This makes 1 cup.
Steak sauce:
Heat 1 T. oil in a small saucepan over medium-low heat; add onion; cook, stirring occasionally, until onion is soft and translucent add garlic. Stir in brown sugar, balsamic vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper; bring to a simmer; stir in tomato sauce that was prepared in advance. Simmer 1 minute; remove from heat; cool slightly. Stir in horseradish; cool completely. Cover; chill.
(Sauce can be made 2 weeks ahead).
Bacon:
Build a medium-low fire in a charcoal grill, or heat a gas grill to medium. Brush grate with oil.
Grill bacon, turning often, until slightly rendered, crispy and charred in spots, about 6 minutes.
Serve bacon with steak sauce.
