This will be one of your most requested desserts after you make it just one time. It's an easy recipe to make and is wonderful when served warm with vanilla ice cream.
1 unbaked 9 inch deep-dish pie shell, (holds 4 cups)
2 large eggs
1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 c. granulated sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar, packed
3/4 c. butter, softened
1 c. (6 oz.) semi-sweet chocolate morsels
1 c. chopped walnuts or nuts of your choice
sweetened whipped cream or ice cream, or both, optional
Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
Beat eggs in large mixer bowl on high speed until foamy. Beat in flour, sugar and brown sugar. Beat in butter. Stir in morsels and nuts. Spoon into unbaked pie shell.
Bake 55 - 60 minutes or until knife inserted halfway between edge and center comes out clean. Cool on wire rack.
Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream, if desired.
* If using frozen a pie shell, use the deep-dish style. Thaw it completely, then bake on a baking sheet; increase baking time slightly.
