Description

Take hot dogs to a higher level by incorporating your favorite sandwich ideas into the hot dog. This one is inspired by the famous reuben sandwich that is loved so many.

Ingredients

• 4 hot dogs or pastrami dogs
• 1/2 c. sauerkraut, divided
• 1/2 c. grated (or sliced) Swiss cheese, divided
• 1/2 c. Thousand Island dressing, divided
• 2 T. spicy brown mustard, divided, optional
• 4 hot dog buns, open but not split completely through

Steps

1. Cook hot dogs using your favorite method.
2. Split and toast or grill the buns.
3. Spread Thousand Island dressing and mustard if using, on both open sides of the buns; place the hot dogs in the buns; top each with the cheese and sauerkraut.
