You will want to eat this whole batch of toffee treats, but be nice and share! They are salty and sweet, crispy, and buttery crackers topped with pecans and chocolate. They make a great holiday treat to make that won't take much of your precious time. Yum
40 saltine crackers
1 c. unsalted butter
3/4 c. granulated sugar
1 c. chopped pecans
12 oz. milk chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Line a 15 x10 x 1 inch baking sheet with the saltine crackers; set aside. Place a large sheet of parchment paper on the countertop.
In a small saucepan over medium-high heat, melt butter; add sugar; bring to a rolling boil, stirring constantly. When it begins to boil, remove from heat; pour over saltine crackers; sprinkle with chopped pecans.
Bake for about 13-15 minutes, until crackers are browned and caramelized.
Remove from oven; using a spatula, place each piece of toffee onto the parchment paper.
Melt chocolate morsels; spread generously over toffee; let chocolate set.
Store in airtight container for up to 5 days.
