Serve them delightful little treats as an appetizer, little snack or serve with your favorite soup.
1 frozen puff pastry, thawed
1 egg, beaten for egg wash
5 T. grated Parmesan cheese or more if desired
chopped chives and salt, for garnish
Preheat oven to 360 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Roll out the puff pastry sheet onto a floured surface. Use a star shaped cookie cutter to cut out individual pastry stars. Place half of them on the baking sheet. Add Parmesan cheese; top with another puff pastry star.
Apply a thin layer of egg wash to the top of each pastry star. Sprinkle a little cheese on top, if desired.
Bake 10-12 minutes, or until the stars are puffed and golden.
Sprinkle with chopped chives and a pinch of salt.
Serve immediately or keep in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
