Recipe

Description
Be careful! This easy to prepare dish is comforting and absolutely delicious. So delicious in fact, that it just could be addicting.
Ingredients
- 5 oz. fresh pasta sheets, about three 6 x 14 inch sheets (refrigerated section of supermarket)
- 1/2 lb. very thinly sliced Black Forest ham (or smoked turkey slices)
- 7 oz. very thinly sliced Swiss cheese - about 18 slices
- 1/2 c. heavy cream, plus a bit more
- 1/4 c. shredded Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 c. shredded Italian blend cheese
- fresh thyme leaves, for garnish
Steps
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
- Lay out the pasta sheets. Lay down one layer of ham on the bottom, overlap it slightly, and then the cheese on top. Space out the cheese a tiny bit. Roll up the sheet of pasta tightly and firmly; slice it with a sharp knife into one and a quarter inch pieces. Do this with remaining pasta, ham, and cheese. 12-14 rolls are needed to fit into an 8 inch skillet.
- Coat the bottom of a small 8 inch ovenproof skillet (cast iron is great) with a thin layer of cream; arrange the rounds, cut side up, fitting them snugly together.
