This tater tot casserole is a notch above those other recipes that are similar. It's more cheesy and still super easy to prepare. Make it for dinner or lunch and leftovers make a hearty breakfast on those cold, winter mornings.
1-1/2 lb. ground beef
3 oz. package real bacon bits or freshly cooked and crumbled bacon
2 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
32 oz. package frozen tater tots
10.75 oz. can condensed cheddar cheese soup
16 oz. sour cream
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly spray a 9 × 13 inch casserole pan with cooking spray; set aside.
Cook ground beef in a large skillet until no longer pink; drain off fat and discard.
In a large bowl, combine cooked beef, bacon, shredded cheddar cheese, tater tots, condensed cheese soup and sour cream; mix until throughly combined.
Spread mixture into the prepared pan. Bake 45 - 50 minutes, until bubbly.
Serve.
