Peppermint Oreo Cookie Balls

Description

These great tasting treats are no bake and so easy to make. They are prepared with cream cheese, Peppermint Oreo cookies, and melted candy wafers.

Ingredients

Cookie Balls:
10 mini candy canes
4 oz. cream cheese, softened
10.7 oz. package Peppermint Oreos
16 oz. dark or white candy wafers

Garnish:
5 mini candy canes, crushed, optional

Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.

Cookie Balls:
Place the 10 mini candy canes into a food processor; pulse until crushed into fine pieces; add in Oreos; pulse until crushed into fine crumbs; add in cream cheese; pulse until thoroughly combined.

Using a small cookie scoop, roll about 2 t. mixture into a cookie ball; place rolled cookie balls on prepared cookie sheet; roll remaining mixture into balls; place in the refrigerator for 30 minutes or into the freezer for 10 minutes.

When cookies balls are chilled, melt candy wafers according to package directions.
To dip the cookie balls, place a cookie ball on a fork over the bowl of melted wafers; spoon the melted candy over the cookie ball, allowing the excess candy to drip back into the bowl. Slide the ball off of the fork; place onto the parchment paper with a toothpick. Repeat until all balls are dipped.

Garnish:
Place the 5 mini candy canes in a zip lock bag; crush with a mallet or a rolling pin. Sprinkle balls with crushed candy canes and/or drizzle with contrasting candy melts.
When all cookie balls are done, refrigerate for 1 hour.
