You may need to hide some of these festive cookies for yourself soon after you bake them. They make the perfect holiday cookie to bake for those parties and gatherings, or to give as a hostess gift.

1/2 t. salt
3/4 t. baking soda
1 c. unsalted butter, at room temperature
1 c. light brown sugar

2 large eggs
1 T. vanilla extract

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a large baking sheet with a Silpat baking mat or parchment paper; set aside.
Combine flour, salt and baking soda in a medium bowl; set aside.
Cream butter and sugars together in a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment until combined. Add eggs and vanilla; beat until smooth. Slowly mix in the dry ingredients. Stir in white chocolate chips, candy canes, and M&M's.
Drop heaping tablespoonfuls of dough on the prepared baking sheets, about 2 inches apart. Bake 10-12 minutes or until cookies are golden around the edges, but still soft in the center.
Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for 2 minutes. Transfer cookies to wire rack; cool completely.

***-If you like less puffy cookies that are a little dry, reduce the flour to 2 1/2 cups.
