Buttermilk Cornbread

Description

Make cornbread the way grandma use to with this fabulous recipe. It's sweet and moist, and so delicious.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 2/3 c. white sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • 1/2 t. baking soda
  • 1 c. cornmeal
  • 1 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 t. salt

Steps

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Grease an 8 x 8 inch pan.
  2. Melt butter in large skillet; remove from heat; stir in sugar. Quickly add eggs; beat until well blended.
  3. In the same skillet, combine buttermilk with baking soda; stir into mixture in prepared pan. Stir in cornmeal, flour, and salt until well blended and few lumps remain. Pour batter into the prepared pan.
