Description
Make cornbread the way grandma use to with this fabulous recipe. It's sweet and moist, and so delicious.
Ingredients
- 1/2 c. butter
- 2/3 c. white sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 c. buttermilk
- 1/2 t. baking soda
- 1 c. cornmeal
- 1 c. all-purpose flour
- 1/2 t. salt
Steps
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Grease an 8 x 8 inch pan.
- Melt butter in large skillet; remove from heat; stir in sugar. Quickly add eggs; beat until well blended.
- In the same skillet, combine buttermilk with baking soda; stir into mixture in prepared pan. Stir in cornmeal, flour, and salt until well blended and few lumps remain. Pour batter into the prepared pan.
