Crockpot Kalua Pork

Description

This Hawaiian inspired slow cooker pork is easy to make and only has 3 ingredients. The crockpot does the work for you and makes the pork nice and juicy. Serve it with rice, in a salad with your favorite ingredients or in lettuce wraps, if desired.

Ingredients

  • 2- 3 lb. trimmed pork shoulder blade roast
  • 1 T. liquid mesquite smoke
  • coarse red Hawaiian sea salt or any sea salt

Steps

  1. Place pork in the crockpot; poke it all over with the tip of a knife. Rub in the sea salt and drizzle the liquid mesquite smoke all over pork. Set crockpot to Low; cook until meat is tender, about 12 - 16 hours.
  2. Remove from crockpot; place on a large platter. Remove any excess fat; shred pork with 2 forks. Discard liquid, reserving a little as needed to keep pork moist.
  3. 8 - 10 servings
