Chili Dog Tater Tot Casserole

Description

This casserole is pretty simple to make-no cooking skills are necessary. Just place the ingredients in the casserole dish and bake. It has kid friendly ingredients and the grown ups will like it too.

Ingredients

30-45 oz. canned chili with beans (or homemade)
1/4 c. ketchup, if needed
8 hot dogs, beef or pork, your favorite brand
32 oz. package frozen tater tots
2 c. shredded Cheddar or Mexican blend cheese
salt and pepper, to taste

Preheat oven to 450 degrees.

Pour chili into a 9 X 13 inch baking pan. If the sauce doesn't cover the pan, mix in a 1/4 cup ketchup.

Cut up the hot dogs into bite sized pieces; stir into the chili. The hot dogs should have at least some chili sauce on them so that they won't burn.

Evenly place frozen tater tots on top of mixture without overlapping.
Bake 30 minutes or until tots are golden brown. Reduce heat to 350 degrees. Lightly season with salt and pepper, to taste. Sprinkle cheese on top of the tots. Bake 10 minutes or until the cheese begins to brown.
