Roasted Green Beans with Parmesan Cheese and Basil

Description

There won't be any complaints when you serve these flavorful, crispy fresh green beans with grated Parmesan cheese and basil. They may not be french fries, but are good in their own right.

Ingredients

3/4 - 1 lb. fresh green beans, ends trimmed off
1 T. extra virgin olive oil
3/4 t. dried basil or freshly minced basil, to taste*
1/4 t. salt
1/4 t. freshly ground pepper, or to taste
2 T. grated Parmesan cheese (Kraft)

Preheat oven to 425 degrees.

Rinse, then thoroughly dry green beans; spread out on a rimmed baking sheet; toss with olive oil, to coat. Sprinkle with salt, pepper and basil; toss to coat.

Roast for 10 minutes; toss; roast for 5 more minutes. Remove from oven.

Immediately sprinkle with Parmesan cheese; serve.

*If using fresh basil, leave it off before roasting. Wait until after beans are cooked and then toss with the finely minced basil leaves.
