Description
Making guacamole dates back to the time of the Aztecs. The recipe is basically the same, probably because the original was just so good. The fruit has a very low fat content and is good for you. But guacamole is popular because it just tastes so good.
Ingredients
- 2 ripe Hass avocados
- 1 Serrano chile, chopped
- 1 medium sweet onion, chopped
- ¼ c. chopped cilantro
- 1 clove garlic
- ½ tea Kosher salt
- freshly squeezed juice of ½ lime
- ½ diced fresh tomato, optional
Steps
- Muddle the garlic, cilantro and avocados together, leaving it chunky. Season with salt. Add lime juice, chopped onion and chile; muddle again. Stir in fresh tomato, if using.
