Description
Since so many people love tacos, use those flavors in this yummy, easy macaroni casserole. Your family will ask for this comforting and satisfying meal often, so just do yourself a favor and put it on your meal rotation.
Ingredients
- 2 lb. ground beef
- 16 oz. elbow macaroni
- 2 T. minced onions
- 1 T. minced garlic
- 2 cu. salsa
- 2 packets taco seasoning
- 8 oz. package cream cheese
- 1 c. sour cream
- ¾ c. water
- favorite shredded cheese, for topping
- salt and pepper, to taste
- sliced green onions, additional sour cream and/or diced avocado for garnish, optional
Steps
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
- Bring a large pot of well salted water to a boil; cook pasta according to the package directions for al dente, about 6-8 minutes; drain; set aside.
- In a large skillet, brown ground beef, garlic and onions over medium heat until thoroughly cooked. Discard excess grease. Mix in salsa and taco seasoning; simmer over medium heat about 5 minutes.
