Description
These chicken strips will soon become one of your favorite chicken recipes. They are perfectly seasoned with Cajun flavored spices that is finger licking good. They can be an appetizer or the entree. Serve them plain or with your favorite mustard or honey
Ingredients
- vegetable oil, for frying
- 1 c. panko breadcrumbs
- 2 T. Cajun seasoning store bought or homemade *see below
- 2 lb. chicken tenders, trimmed
- 1 c. buttermilk
- Homemade Cajun Seasoning:
- 1/2 t. onion powder
- 1/2 t. garlic powder
- 1/2 t. dried oregano
- 1/2 t. dried basil
- 1/4 t. dried thyme
- 1/4 t. black pepper
- 1/4 t. white pepper
- 1/4 t. cayenne pepper
- 1½ t. paprika
- 1/2 t. salt
Steps
- Cover the bottom of a large, heavy skillet with about ½ inch of oil; heat oil to 350 degrees.
- In a small bowl that can be used for dredging or a small cake pan, combine panko breadcrumbs, onion powder, garlic powder, oregano, basil, thyme, peppers, paprika and salt.
- Pour buttermilk into a small bowl.
