Description
These melt in your mouth cube steaks cook all day in your slow cooker to make a comforting, simple dish in a nice gravy. Serve with your favorite sides, like mashed potatoes, rice or egg noodles and a side salad.
Ingredients
- 1 lb. cubed steak, about 4 pieces
- flour, for breading
- 3 T. oil
- 1 c. sliced fresh mushrooms
- 3 c. water, divided
- 3 - one oz. packets envelopes beef gravy or mushroom gravy, or your favorite
Steps
- On a plate or platter, dredge cubed steak in flour.
- Heat oil in a skillet; place in hot oil to fry; brown/sear on both sides, not cooking it all the way through.
- Place cubed steaks in slow cooker; add mushrooms; cover with 2 c. water. Cook on Low for 8 hours.
