This hot chocolate is definitely not your average hot chocolate and it isn't made from a powdery mix that is typical these days. It's full of real chocolate, and can be made with your favorite, like dark or milk chocolate, semi-sweet or even a combination
2 T. butter
2 t. - 1 T. cornstarch
2 c. milk
4 T. sugar
1 c. chopped chocolate or chocolate chips*
Melt butter in a medium saucepan over low heat; whisk in cornstarch until combined and melty. To make the hot chocolate thicker, use the maximum amount of cornstarch. Add in milk and sugar. Increase the heat gradually to medium-high; bring to a boil, stirring constantly.
Once the mixture begins to thicken, turn heat down to low; add in the chocolate chips, stirring constantly until well melted.
Serve hot.
2-4 servings.
Leftovers are amazing and are good cold as well.
*The darkness of the chocolate can be adjusted by what kind of chocolate is used. A mixture of semi-sweet and milk chocolate are good, or go lighter with all milk chocolate, or darker with a combination of semi-sweet and bittersweet.
