Fall is in the air and what better way to celebrate than a crunchy, sweet and salty snack with a hint of pumpkin. In just a few minutes you can enjoy this delicious treat with ingredients that you probably already have in your pantry.
2 T. brown sugar
2 T. maple syrup
1½ t. pumpkin pie spice
1 T. butter or margarine
½ c. pecans, chopped, optional
5 c. popped popcorn
In a large saucepan, heat brown sugar, maple syrup and pumpkin pie spice over medium heat; cook, stirring, 3 minutes or until sugar is dissolved and mixture is bubbling. Stir in butter until melted and well blended.
Add pecans and popcorn; stir until well coated.
Cool a bit and then serve immediately or store in an airtight container.
Makes 5 cups.
