Everyone will love the sweet and salty flavor of these dessert bars. You will love them not only for their delicious taste but also for how easy and quick they are to prepare.
13.7 oz. box Ritz crackers (all 4 sleeves)
14 oz. can sweetened condensed milk
20 small caramel candies, unwrapped (about 7 oz.)
2 T. heavy whipping cream
1/4 t. flaky sea salt
1 c. chocolate chips (milk, semi-sweet or dark chocolate)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Add crackers to a food processor or blender; process to make fine crumbs.
In a medium sized bowl, stir together cracker crumbs and condensed milk. Press mixture into an 8 x 8 baking dish; bake 10 minutes.
While crust is baking, add caramel candies and whipping cream to a small bowl; microwave for 3 minutes or until melted, stirring every 60 seconds.
Remove crust from oven; immediately pour caramel sauce over the top; sprinkle with sea salt. Sprinkle chocolate chips over caramel sauce; let sit for 5 minutes to melt. Spread melted chocolate over the caramel; let harden in refrigerator for at least 2 hours before cutting.
Serve.
