If you are wanting to impress family and friends, serve them this beautiful, delicious and easy to make pie. It's very unique because it is actually served upside down.
1 c. chopped pecans
1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1/3 c. butter, melted
1 box refrigerated Pillsbury All Ready Pie crust
1 t. flour
6 medium Granny Smith or Braeburn apples, peeled and sliced
1/4 c. sugar
2 T. flour
1/2 t. cinnamon
1/8 t. nutmeg
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Combine pecans, brown sugar and butter; spread evenly over bottom of a 9 inch plate.
Place a pie crust over pecan mixture in plate; press crust down around sides of plate; sprinkle with 1 t. flour.
In a large bowl, combine apples, sugar, flour, cinnamon and nutmeg; mix lightly. Spoon into pie crust-lined plate.
Top with second pie crust; flute. Cut 4-5 slits in top crust, for steam to escape. Place pie plate on a cookie sheet. Bake for 40-50 minutes or until crust is golden brown.
Remove pie from oven; cool on wire rack for 5 minutes. Place a serving plate over pie; carefully invert hot pie; remove pie plate. If some nuts remain in pan, replace on pie.
Cool at least 1 hour before serving.
8-10 servings.
