Put this easy casserole on your dinner rotation. It's a meatball sub in a casserole that will surely impress family and friends. It's also possible to make it vegetarian with vegetarian meatballs, either store bought or homemade.
Ingredients
- 1 loaf Italian bread or baguette, cut into 1 inch thick slices
- 4 oz. cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 c. mayonnaise
- 1/4 c. plain Greek yogurt
- 1/2 t. garlic powder
- 1/4 t. dried oregano
- 1/4 t. dried parsley
- 1/4 t. pepper
- 1/4 t. salt
- 2 c. grated mozzarella cheese, divided
- 1-2 lb. frozen meatballs (or vegetarian meatballs)
- 28 oz. jar marinara sauce
- 1/2 c. water
Steps
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- In a medium saucepan, place water, sauce and meatballs; simmer for about 10-15 minutes, until meatballs are warmed; set aside.
- Place bread slices in an un-greased 9 × 13 baking dish.
