Crescent rolls are very versatile and easy to make many different recipes. With just a few other ingredients, you can make Danish that will rival the ones offered in the bakery.
2 crescent roll tubes
8 oz. package cream cheese, softened
2 T. butter, melted
1 t. freshly squeezed lemon juice
1/4 c. light brown sugar
1/2 c. sugar
1 t. vanilla extract
Glaze:
1/2 c. powdered sugar
1 t. vanilla extract
4 t. milk
Preheat over to 350 degrees. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
In a medium bowl, use a mixer to combine cream cheese, lemon juice, vanilla extract and sugar until well combined; set aside.
Open crescent roll tubes, but DON'T unroll them. Use a very sharp knife to cut through them to slice them, making thick slices. Lay each slice on the prepared cookie sheet.
Use fingers or a small measuring cup to create a small wall around the edge to hold the filling. Add the light brown sugar to the melted butter; mix. Brush the mixture over each danish. Dollop equal amounts of the filling into each of the danishes.
Bake for 16-18 minutes or until slightly golden brown.
Let cool. Drizzle with glaze.
Glaze:
In a small bowl, combine all ingredients; stir until smooth; drizzle over each warm danish.
Top with cherry, blueberry or strawberry filling, if desired.
Serve.
