Description
Change up your meatloaf just a bit to make it even better with gooey mozzarella cheese in the center and a yummy glaze on top. Yum!
Ingredients
- 1 lb. ground beef (85/15)
- 1 c. breadcrumbs
- 1 t. dried basil
- 1 t. dried oregano
- 1 t. dried parsley
- 1 t. salt
- ½ t. black pepper
- ½ c. milk
- 2 T. Worcestershire sauce
- 8 oz. fresh mozzarella, sliced
- Glaze:
- 1 c. ketchup
- ¼ c. brown sugar, tightly packed
- 1 T. Worcestershire sauce
- 1 T. red wine vinegar
- 2 cloves garlic, crushed
- ⅛ t. salt
- pinch cayenne pepper
Steps
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease a 9 x 13 inch glass baking dish with non-stick cooking spray.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, basil, oregano, parsley, salt, pepper, milk, and Worcestershire sauce; knead until combined.
- Divide meat in half. Shape one half of the meat for the bottom half of the loaf; place in prepared pan. Place mozzarella slices down the center, leaving ½ inch around the ends and sides. Shape remaining half of meat as the top half of the loaf, sealing the edges.
