You can enjoy General Tso's flavor without the chicken. This is perfect for vegetarians who want to enjoy the flavor without the meat.
1 lb. Brussels sprouts, split lengthwise
sesame oil
1/4 t. sea salt
Glaze:
1 c. freshly squeezed orange juice (from about 1-2 oranges)
2 T. apple cider vinegar
1/4 t. red chili flakes, or to taste
1 clove garlic, minced
1 T. arrowroot starch
1/3 c. filtered water
Heat a non-stick skillet to high heat; drizzle with sesame oil; add Brussels sprouts and sea salt; cook 3 - 5 minutes or until sprouts are golden and crispy.
Glaze:
To a small bowl, add orange juice, vinegar, red chili flakes, garlic and arrowroot starch; mix.
Once Brussels sprouts are cooked, pour water into the skillet to create steam and soften the sprouts. When completely evaporated, pour in the glaze.
