Make an easy, quick, delicious spaghetti dinner without using spaghetti sauce from a jar. It's made in one pot, so clean up is quick and easy plus you can skip boiling the pasta separately because it is cooked in the sauce itself.
1 lb. lean ground beef
1 sweet onion, diced
5 cloves garlic, minced
15 oz. tomato sauce, undrained
15 oz. diced tomatoes
2 T. Italian seasoning
1 t. salt
1 t. black pepper
1 t. sugar
12 oz. dried spaghetti
3/4 c. freshly grated Parmesan cheese
2 T. freshly chopped parsley
Add ground beef and onion to a large dutch oven/skillet over medium heat; cook until browned; drain/discard grease. Add garlic; cook for 30 seconds, stirring. Stir in tomato sauce, tomatoes and water. Add Italian seasoning, salt, black pepper and sugar. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
Once boiling, break spaghetti in half; add to the pot; stir to submerge pasta. Return to a boil; reduce to a simmer; cover. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 10-12 minutes or until pasta is cooked through.
Sprinkle Parmesan cheese and parsley over the top; stir to combine.
Serve immediately.
