Summer is the perfect time to make and serve this copycat version of Dairy Queen's Buster Bars. There is no baking required that heats up your kitchen. Make it in a throw away foil pan so that clean up is a breeze. It feeds a crowd so it's great for BBQ's
14.3 oz. pkg. Oreo cookies, crushed
2 qt. vanilla ice cream, softened
16 oz. hot fudge sauce
1 1/2 c. peanuts
32 oz.. Cool Whip or homemade whipped cream
Line the bottom of 9 x 13" dish (a tall foil pan with a lid makes it easy) with crushed Oreos. Spread softened ice cream over cookies. Place dish in the freezer so that the ice cream freezes again, about 1 - 2 hours.
Spread fudge sauce on top of the vanilla ice cream, if too thick, place in microwave for about 10 seconds to soften. Sprinkle peanuts on top of the fudge; spread Cool Whip over peanuts. Freeze.
Serve with more hot fudge and peanuts, if desired.
