Having a party and at a loss as to what to serve your adult guests? Try these delicious meatballs. They start out traditional, but it's the sauce that makes them sweet and tangy. Serve them as an appetizer or as part of a meal, if you wish. Just don't fee
Ingredients
- Meatballs:
- 1 lb. lean ground beef
- 1 lb. ground pork
- 1/2 medium onion, finely minced
- 1 c. bread crumbs
- 1 large egg
- 1 t. salt
- 1/2 - 1 t. freshly ground black pepper
- 2-3 T. finely minced fresh sage
- Sauce:
- 1 2/3 c. apple butter
- 3/4 c. BBQ sauce
- 1 c. brandy
- 1 c. water
- 4 T. chili sauce
- 2 T. brown sugar, optional
- 1 t. salt
Steps
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Mix meatball ingredients together gently but thoroughly incorporated, DO NOT over mix.
- Use a tablespoon or small scoop to portion out the meatballs; roll meatballs in the palms of your hands until they are smooth and round; place on an un-greased cookie/baking sheet. Bake for 10 minutes.
