Description
Pizza doesn't always have to be Italian inspired. Try this one with no red sauce or tomatoes. It's made with olive oil, spinach, jarred red peppers, red onion, Kalamata olives and feta cheese on a homemade pizza crust.
Ingredients
- 1 recipe pizza dough (see below)
- 2 T. extra virgin olive oil
- 1 red onion, sliced thin
- 4 oz. fresh spinach, roughly chopped
- 2 jarred roasted red pepper halves, roughly chopped
- ¾ c. Kalamata olives, halved
- 6 oz. feta cheese, crumbled
- Basic Pizza Crust:
- 1 t. instant or active dry yeast
- 1-½ c. warm water, not lukewarm
- 4 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 t. Kosher salt
- ⅓ c. olive oil
Steps
- Preheat oven to 450 degrees. If using a pizza stone, place stone in the oven while heating up.
- Stretch the pizza dough into 2 rounds; drizzle with olive oil.
- Top each pizza with red onion, spinach, red pepper, olives and feta cheese. Bake until feta and crust turn golden brown, about 10-12 minutes. Remove the pizzas from oven.
