Put your slow cooker to work to help make a great, economical appetizer dip that will delight all at holiday parties, family get togethers or even tailgate parties.
1 lb. lean ground beef or turkey
8 oz. package cream cheese, cubed
2 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
10 oz. can diced tomatoes with green chiles and their juices
6 oz. package real bacon bits, reserving 2 T. for garnish
1 t. dried parsley
assorted dippers: tortilla chips, Fritos scoops, toasted crusty bread, pretzels
Brown ground beef/turkey in a large skillet; discard grease. Over low heat, stir in cheeses, tomatoes and bacon bits, excluding the reserved 2 T. set these aside for garnish. Cook, stirring frequently until heated through and well blended.
Line a 2 qt. crock pot with a crock pot liner for easy clean up. Pour mixture into the crock pot; cover; cook on Low for 2-3 hours, stirring occasionally.
Stir in parsley and garnish with reserved bacon bits just before serving.
6-8 servings.
