When you use the best quality ingredients available, you will get an awesomely delicious pie that is sweet and custard-like in consistency. You'll be surprised at how easy it is to make and more surprised at how good it is!
baked pie shell
½ c. butter
2¼ c. milk, divided
1 c. sugar
¼ c. cornstarch
nutmeg
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Heat butter, sugar and 2 c. milk to almost boiling.
Combine ¼ c. milk and cornstarch; stir until combined and smooth.
Once butter, milk and sugar are almost to a boil, SLOWLY drizzle in milk and cornstarch mixture while continually stirring. Drizzle and stir; drizzle and stir. Once incorporated, continue cooking and stirring until mixture is not quite as thick as a pudding. Pour into the baked pie shell. Sprinkle with nutmeg.
Bake 10-12 minutes.
Allow pie to cool and set up .
Serve.
8-10 servings.
