Enjoy the best tuna melt sandwich that you will ever have in the comfort of your own home. It can be ready in just a few minutes so you won't have to wait long. Serve with chips and a dill pickle spear, if desired.
Ingredients
- 2 cans tuna, drained
- medium size onion, chopped
- 1/2 celery stalk, chopped
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 T. fresh parsley, chopped
- 3-4 T. mayonnaise
- 3 T. olive oil, divided
- 1/3 c. Mozzarella cheese, shredded
- salt, to taste
- freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- 4 bread slices
- butter, room temperature
Steps
- Drain water or oil from tuna; fork tuna into a medium bowl.
- Chop onion, celery, and parsley; mince garlic; add ingredients to the tuna.
- Add mayonnaise, olive oil and cheese. Combine all ingredients until well incorporated. Salt and pepper, to taste.
