Description
This three layer cake is literally made with Milky Way candy bars melted into the batter. It's then frosted with an icing of milk chocolate and marshmallow cream along that perfectly finished this luscious cake.
Ingredients
- Cake:
- 8 regular sized Milky Way candy bars, unwrapped
- 1 1/2 c. from 3 sticks butter, at room temperature, divided
- 2 c. sugar
- 4 large eggs, well-beaten
- 2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
- 1/2 t. baking soda
- 1 1/4 c. buttermilk
- 1 t. vanilla extract
- Frosting:
- 2 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 c. evaporated milk
- 1/2 c. from 1 stick butter
- 1 c. marshmallow cream
- 6 oz. milk chocolate chips
Steps
- Cake:
- Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Grease and flour three 9 inch cake pans.
- In a double boiler, melt candy bars with 1/2 c. butter. As candy and butter are melting, they'll begin to look almost curdled, but will eventually come together into a smooth consistency. Remove from heat; let cool.
