Chocolate Dipped Candy Cane Shortbread Cookies

Description

Make a fun treat for your family and guests that take just a few minutes to prepare. Take a box of shortbread cookies, dip them in chocolate, sprinkle crushed candy canes on them, and voila, they are done and ready to enjoy.

Ingredients

1 box Walkers Shortbread Petticoat Tails (available at Sears or Amazon)
12 oz. dark or semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 t. refined coconut oil or any light flavored oil
3 small candy canes, crushed

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Place the chocolate chips and oil in a medium-size glass bowl; heat in the microwave for 90 seconds; stir until smooth.

Dip the shortbread in the chocolate; place the coated shortbread on the parchment lined baking sheet; sprinkle with crushed candy canes.

Place in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour to allow the chocolate to harden.

Finished cookies can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
