Description
This awesome and colorful cake is pretty and a fun one to serve guests. It's delicious and gets is great flavor and color from the cherries.
Ingredients
- Cake:
- 15.25 oz. package white cake mix
- 3.5 oz. cherry jello mix
- 3/4 c. vegetable oil
- 3/4 c. buttermilk
- 3 large eggs
- 1 t. vanilla extract
- Frosting:
- 8 oz. can crushed pineapple, with juices
- 3.4 oz. package instant vanilla pudding mix
- 16 oz. container frozen whipped topping, thawed
- 8 oz. jar maraschino cherries, halved, juices reserved
Steps
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, beat cherry jello mix, oil, buttermilk, eggs and vanilla extract into white cake mix until just combined; pour into prepared baking dish.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until wooden toothpick inserted in center comes out mostly clean. Remove from oven; let cool.
