Description

This awesome and colorful cake is pretty and a fun one to serve guests. It's delicious and gets is great flavor and color from the cherries.

Ingredients

• Cake:
• 15.25 oz. package white cake mix
• 3.5 oz. cherry jello mix
• 3/4 c. vegetable oil
• 3/4 c. buttermilk
• 3 large eggs
• 1 t. vanilla extract
• Frosting:
• 8 oz. can crushed pineapple, with juices
• 3.4 oz. package instant vanilla pudding mix
• 16 oz. container frozen whipped topping, thawed
• 8 oz. jar maraschino cherries, halved, juices reserved

Steps

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
2. In a large bowl, beat cherry jello mix, oil, buttermilk, eggs and vanilla extract into white cake mix until just combined; pour into prepared baking dish.
3. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until wooden toothpick inserted in center comes out mostly clean. Remove from oven; let cool.
