Description

This popular drink born in Manhattan, not Moscow, but might have been named for the Russian Smirnoff Vodka that was used. Serve it in a copper mug, which takes on the cold temperature of the liquid.

Ingredients

• 2 oz. good quality vodka
• 1 T. (½ oz.) freshly squeezed lime juice
• 4 oz. ginger beer
• ice
• lime wedge and sprig of mint, for garnish

Steps

1. Fill a copper mug (or a tall cocktail glass) with ice.
2. Add vodka and lime juice; add 4 oz. ginger beer. Stir well. Garnish with a lime wedge and a sprig of fresh mint.
3. Serve cold.
