Description
These little gems are the perfect appetizer for your next party. They're filled with creamy cream cheese, bacon, two kinds of cheeses, avocado, green and red onions and jalapenos and then are fried until crispy. Serve them with your favorite dipping sauce
Ingredients
- Filling:
- 2- 8 oz. packages cream cheese
- 3 large avocados, diced small
- 1 lb. bacon, cooked crisp then crumbled
- 1 c. Sharp cheddar, shredded
- 1 c. Pepper Jack cheese, shredded
- 1/2 c. diced jalapenos from a jar
- 1/2 c. green onions, sliced
- 1/2 c. cilantro, chopped
- 1/4 c. red onions, diced
- 1 t. garlic salt
- 1/2 t. Cajun seasoning
- 1/2 t. pepper
- 1 t. freshly squeezed lime juice
- Coating:
- 1 c. buttermilk
- 1 egg
- 1 c. flour
- 1-2 c. Panko bread crumbs
- 2 c. vegetable oil (or more if needed)
- dipping sauce, of choice
Steps
- Filling:
- Fry bacon until crispy; transfer to a paper towel lined plate. When cool enough to handle, crumble; set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat cream cheese for 2-3 minutes on medium speed until creamy. Add remaining ingredients, except avocados; stir. Gently stir diced avocados into mixture. Chill in refrigerator for 1 hour.
