There's no reason to buy expensive candied pecans when it's so simple to make your own at home. They make a great treat by themselves and are great on salads and desserts as well.
1 c. white sugar
1 t. ground cinnamon
1 t. salt
egg white from 1 egg
1 T. water
1 lb. pecan halves
Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a small bowl, combine sugar cinnamon and salt; set aside.
In a large bowl, whisk together water and egg white until airy and light; add pecans; stir to coat.
Sprinkle sugar mixture over pecans; stir; spread evenly onto prepared baking sheet.
Bake for about 40 minutes or until pecans are browned and sugar has caramelized, making sure to stir pecans regularly while baking.
