This side dish is totally awesome. It has only 3 ingredients, is economical, it's easy to prepare, but best of all, it tastes incredible. Serve it like it is, or perhaps with plain Greek yogurt or a buttery tomato sauce on top.
4 c. chicken stock/broth (or veggie stock/broth)
2 c. long grain white rice
½ c. butter
salt, to taste
Place chicken stock/broth and rice in a large pot; bring to a boil; reduce heat to low; cover; simmer for 15 minutes.
During the last 5 minutes of cooking time, melt the butter in a small skillet over medium-high heat until it browns, the foam starts to clear and it's a dark brown, similar to chocolate.
After the rice has simmered for the 15 minutes, remove from the heat.
Carefully pour the burnt butter over the rice, NOT stirring into the rice. Cover; let stand for 15 minutes; stir.
Serve, seasoned with salt, to taste.
