Description

This chocolate pie is just Heavenly. It uses chocolate chips instead of cocoa powder and the usual chocolate pie ingredients. Use a store bought pie crust or your favorite recipe.

Ingredients

• 1/2 t. salt
• 1 T. vanilla extract
• 2 c. Hershey's Special Dark Chocolate Chips from a 12 oz. pkg., divided (or semi-sweet)
• 4 egg yolks
• 1/3 c. cornstarch
• 2/3 c. sugar
• 3 c. milk
• 2 T. butter or margarine, softened
• 9 inch pie shell
• sweetened whipped cream or whipped topping, optional

Steps

1. Bake pie shell according to the package directions; cool.
2. In a 2 qt. saucepan, stir together sugar, cornstarch and salt.
3. Combine egg yolks and milk in a container with a pouring spout. Gradually blend milk mixture into sugar mixture.
